Start with what you have already learned
Previous training gives us useful information. What improved? What stayed difficult? Did a skill work during lessons but become harder on walks or at home? We want to understand those experiences and build on the progress you and your dog have already made.
You do not need to arrive with the right explanation or defend everything you have tried. Bring your questions, your observations and an honest picture of everyday life.
The behavior is a starting point
A dog can know sit, down and heel while still struggling with fear, frustration, excitement or the presence of other dogs. Another dog may understand a skill in a quiet room and need clearer guidance as the surroundings become more challenging.
At World Canine, we consider temperament, development, motivation, confidence and the circumstances around the behavior. We look at how your dog responds to you, what changes as a situation becomes difficult and how they recover. Those details help us decide where to begin.
What your $85 evaluation includes
The evaluation is a chance to observe your dog in person, discuss your history and goals, and consider a training path that fits. It usually takes 30–45 minutes at 8 Barrett Drive, Hopewell Junction, in East Fishkill.
- Your experience. We discuss previous lessons, approaches and equipment, what helped, and what remains unresolved.
- The dog in front of us. We observe your dog and your communication together, with attention to confidence, motivation and individual needs.
- A practical next step. We discuss whether obedience, behavior work or a combination makes sense, along with realistic goals and your role between lessons.
The $85 fee is for the evaluation appointment. Any ongoing training is separate; you can review our programs and prices before deciding on your next step.
Training for the life you share
Our work involves owners as well as dogs. We build clearer communication, achievable confidence and useful skills, then gradually work toward greater reliability in the situations that matter to your household.
We pay attention to progress beyond a demonstration: your dog’s ability to reconnect with you, recover from uncertainty and use what they have learned outside the training center. The plan should respond to the dog’s actual progress. An evaluation cannot promise a particular outcome or a fixed timeline.

What to share before we meet
- The situations that are hardest and what you would like to change.
- Previous training, including anything that helped or made things harder.
- Relevant health concerns and any history of biting, snapping or serious reactions.
Ordinary observations are enough. There is no need to recreate a difficult incident or provoke a reaction for a video. Include safety concerns on the form so we can discuss arrangements before your visit.
A thoughtful next step.
Complete the evaluation form first. After submitting it, use the booking link on the confirmation page to choose your $85 appointment. The form alone does not reserve a time.
